I want a SWISS FLEX! Or was it a SWISS SENSE?

The names are similar. But then that is all.

Unfortunately, in marketing not everything is by far what it seems. Swiss Sense sounds Swiss and thus like Swiss quality. Swissflexaljust the same. But who has true Swiss craftsmanship in their genes? The right answer is: Swissflex. And practice proves it.

Summary:

  • Only Swissflex is Swiss quality
  • Swissflex slat base molds optimally to the body
  • Slatted base has the best ventilation
  • Swissflex topper is included in mattress
  • Swissflex slatted base is less high than a box spring
  • Mattress of slatted base adapts better to adjustable bed
  • Swissflex slatted base can be built into an existing bed frame
  • Price difference is more than compensated by Swissflex

Swissflex was founded in Basel in 1949. This bed manufacturer has stood out for decades with high quality ergonomic slatted bed bases. With very good pressure distribution and support, which cannot be compared to that of Swiss Sense's box springs. By the way, the latter does not have Swiss but Dutch roots and the company is a lot younger than Swissflex. They only supply box springs, whose origins are diverse.

Swissflex always chooses a slatted base topped with a high-quality foam mattress, optionally made of natural latex. These mattresses include a durable topper (loose toppers are on the way out anyway, as they harden quickly). There is no steel in them, except for any springs.

The advantages of Swissflex slat bases:

  • A lot of stability and customization in support, each slat can be steered separately and the slats can tilt independently, forming completely to your body. Even corrections can be made afterwards;
  • A slatted base has the best ventilation. A box spring needs a longer way to discharge air;
  • A slatted base is considerably lower in height than a box spring and that looks more modern. Anyone who would still like to give a slatted base from Swissflex the look of a box spring: this is also possible;
  • Because a slatted base can spring in considerably, it still creates a spring depth similar to that of a box spring;
  • In an adjustable bed with a slatted base, the mattress can follow the base much better than in a box spring. This looks more attractive;
  • You can also build a slatted base into an existing bed frame. With a box spring, this is more difficult.

Does that make Swiss Sense beds a lesser choice? From our technical expertise as sleep specialists, yes. The concept with slatted base is by definition more ergonomic than the box spring from Swiss Sense. We also find the Swiss craftsmanship and precision at Swissflex. And although Swiss Sense is somewhat cheaper, the overall price difference is positive for Swissflex.

Of course, there is also a market for Swiss Sense's beds. But the predicate "Swiss" does not apply to them anyway.

Be well advised!

If you want to enjoy a bed for ten years or more, independent advice is important. So rather not just from an exclusive store with one brand. Bröring carries several brands with different bed systems, with which we can find the best solution for every body. Come and try it out.
